How do your interline rates on cruises compare to other interline agencies?
We offer the exact same interline rates as other agencies because these rates are set by the cruise lines themselves. The difference is, we don’t charge booking fees, which many other interline agencies do, saving our customers up to $100 or more per booking. This means you get the same industry discounts without paying extra for administrative costs. I did not know other interline agencies charge a booking fee.
Many travelers aren’t aware they are being charged a booking fee, as some agencies disguise it with terms like admin fees, document verification fees, or roll it into taxes. Am I being charged a booking fee for a resort booking or other bookings?
Yes, you are. These interline agencies who charge the fee, charge it on every booking whether it is a cruise, resort or tour. Up to $100 or more per booking as their typical booking fee is $50 per person. So, for a family of 4 in a cabin or resort room, you are forking over $200 in booking fees that you don’t need to pay!
Who qualifies for interline rates?
Eligibility is typically extended to commercial airline employees, cargo carrier employees (FedEx/UPS), and CRS company employees like Sabre, Amadeus, Worldspan, or Apollo, along with their spouses, dependent children, and retirees. Some parents and in-laws may also qualify depending on the airline. At the time of booking and check-in, proof of eligibility is required, such as a valid ID or letter on company letterhead dated within six months. Our team ensures you have all documentation ready, making the booking process smooth.
Am I booked on confirmed space or on standby for an interline discounted rate?
Bookings are made in confirmed space at the time of reservation, giving you security that your trip is set. On rare occasions, resorts or cruise lines may bump bookings if needed, but they generally provide accommodations of equal or better quality, or offer alternatives like a different sailing date, another ship, or shipboard credit. Do I need a passport to go on a cruise?
Technically if the ship is sailing roundtrip from a port in the USA and returning to the same port, no, as a US citizen, you do not need a passport. HOWEVER, it is highly recommended you have one. The reason is if you get to a foreign destination and something happens, you need to fly home due to an emergency, you miss your ship, etc, then you are now faced with trying to get home without a passport. While not impossible, it is a MAJOR headache to deal with. Passports are good for 10 years. You are in the airline business, Get a passport!
I am taking my kids under 18. Are there special rules I need to know about?
Yes, if both biological parents are not traveling, a notarized consent letter from the other parent is required to take a child abroad. This ensures compliance with international law and avoids travel interruptions. Can I get more than one cabin at the interline rate when I book?
Sometimes. It all depends on the ship, sailing date and cruise line. Sometimes you can and sometimes you can’t. Depending on who is going and their background there may be ways to separate people and get additional cabins. If not, we have access to other discounts that might be close to the interline rate. Rates such as military, past passenger, senior, resident rates, group discounts and other pricing options.
If I am traveling with extended family or planning a wedding, can you help me book everyone?
Absolutely. We can coordinate bookings for everyone, applying the best rates they qualify for and arranging cabins, dining, and seating together. From interline rates for parents to military discounts for veterans, our team ensures a seamless group travel experience. Do I have to call to book?
No, most cruises, resorts, hotels, shore excursions, and travel insurance bookings can be done online. Some tours may require a call, but either way, you pay no booking fees. Our experts are always available to guide you, and you can call (561) 573-8252 for personalized planning or assistance.
Do you offer bump protection like some other interline agencies?
Yes, at resorts that offer bump protection, we ensure this benefit is applied to your booking. Cruise lines generally do not offer bump protection, so arriving on time is critical. Our team explains all policies and protects your vacation experience whenever possible.
How late can I book an interline rate on a ship I want to go on?
Booking is generally possible up to 72 hours before departure, as cruise lines submit passenger lists to Homeland Security around 48–72 hours prior. This timing ensures you can still access interline rates, assuming availability. Our travel planner services help monitor availability and secure your booking before deadlines.
What do you need to book me?
We need your full legal name, dates of birth of everyone traveling. We will also need to know what airline you are with, your phone and email address, your billing address on your credit card and of course your credit card information. Then within 48 hours we need a copy of your airline ID. Then tell us what dining you would like, if you have cruised with that cruise line before and of course the cabin type and location you want.
What if I want to cancel? Do I get all my money back?
We follow the vendor’s cancellation policies. Typically, canceling more than 90 days in advance results in a full refund. Unlike other agencies that issue credits, we refund the original payment promptly. Travel insurance is recommended for unforeseen issues, and our travel planning services include guidance on choosing the right coverage.
One thing that makes us very different from some of the interline agencies, especially the ones who charge you a booking fee, is that we do give you an immediate refund when you cancel. Some of the other interline agencies that charge booking fees actually only issue you a credit which you must use within a year and is subject to another booking fee when you go to use it. At Viara Journeys we don’t play games with your money. It’s your money and when you cancel, a refund is issued back to the same form of payment as it was made. The refund amount depends on the vendor and when you cancel.
I book with you and later the price goes down. Do I get the new lower rate?
If rates drop before the final payment date, we can usually adjust your booking. Within the final payment period, cruise lines rarely allow repricing, but we attempt upgrades or shipboard credits to offset differences.
How do you assist with international travel logistics?
